For a small congregation, we have a lot going on! These are the volunteer committees that keep our synagogue running:

 

ADULT EDUCATION

Plans meaningful programs on issues impacting the Jewish community.

BUILDING

Responsible for maintaining the Temple structure. Includes daily operations and long term maintenance. 

CHESED

Helps members in need of support in times of illness and death. Activities include preparing meals, visiting, and arranging for rides.

COMMUNICATIONS

Oversees all internal and external communications, including marketing materials and website.

FINANCE

Manages the Temple’s financial resources. Includes annual budgeting, financial planning, financial reporting, and creating and maintaining internal controls and accountability policies.

HUMAN RESOURCES

Develops policies and procedures dealing with human resource issues. Prepares and administers employee contracts. 

INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT

Manages and oversees all endowment funds. 

KITCHEN

Supports Temple events with food prepared by a team of volunteers. Coordinates with Chesed Committee to provide meals for congregants in need.

MEMBERSHIP TASK FORCE

Assists in attracting and welcoming new members, as well as retaining current members.

MT. JACOB CEMETERY

Oversees and maintains the grounds of Mt. Jacob Cemetery. Assists with all graveside funerals and burials. Oversees the sale of cemetery plots.

MUSIC

Works with the Rabbi, the Music Director and the Progamming Committee to enhance the congregation’s ritual and cultural life through music, with a focus on Kabbalat Shabbat services and special events. 

NOMINATING

Recommends congregants to fill Board of Director positions.

PROGRAMMING

Plans a variety of programs and events for all ages that bring people together, educate, and entertain. 

RABBINIC LIAISON

Maintains an ongoing confidential dialogue with the Rabbi to address issues and strategize as needed. 

RITUAL

Supports the Rabbi in creating services that meet the religious needs of our diverse community. Coordinates volunteers who help lead portions of services.  

SECURITY TASK FORCE

Develops and implements protocols and physical security recommendations designed to ensure TAA is a safe and welcoming community.
