The holidays come alive at Temple Ahavat Achim!
Join us to observe the full cycle of the Jewish calendar. We never miss a chance to get together to sing, celebrate, and break bread (or matzah).
While we are most famous for our Lobster Trap Menorah, our celebrations and observances help you find meaning throughout the year. Celebrate with us as we unroll the Torah on Simchat Torah, journey through the Haggadah with our community Passover Seder, and go wild with an outrageous Purim celebration.
"Holidays at TAA are festive, fun, and family-friendly! It always feels like we're celebrating together as an extended family."
Rav Naomi and other leaders offer lively Festival services on Sukkot, Pesach and Shavuot, including a spirited, tuneful Hallel. We gather for meals in the sukkah and hold a community Tikkun Leyl Shavuot—complete with an ice-cream party in the early evening and Rav Naomi’s Magical Cheesecake in the later hours. During the month of Elul, we prioritize reflection through multiple modes of engagement: you might find a writing workshop, or a song session with our High Holiday Hazzan to preview some of the melodies to come, or an exploration into the meanings of the major liturgical pieces of the Yamim Nora’im. Tisha B’Av finds us holding a subdued, candle-lit service that combines the traditional chanting of Eicha (Lamentations) and contemporary poetry. On Yom haShoah, we remember those we lost in the Holocaust.
Our services are open to all - there is never a ticket or reserved seat at TAA, even on the High Holidays.
