"I love that the services are intimate, and a variety of different people take on roles each week.

I love seeing the talents of our congregants, be it reading Torah, chanting haftarah, playing in the band, singing in the choir, or giving a d'var Torah."

Services at Temple Ahavat Achim are joyful, warm, and welcoming. There is no dress code, seating hierarchy, or "right way" to participate. Knowing that our spiritual needs are fluid, our Rav and lay leaders encourage worshippers to engage with the service on their own terms.

People of all ages are warmly welcomed in our services. As Rav Naomi reminds us often, the voices of children are the sounds of life. We typically have children’s books and quiet toys on hand to make our littlest members comfortable, and service leaders make a point of creating an inclusive, low-pressure environment.

We gather every Saturday in our upstairs sanctuary for a Shabbat morning service. Together we sing, pray and learn. Members of our congregation have roles leading parts of the service, reading Torah and Haftarah, and occasionally giving a d'var Torah. Services are followed by a light Kiddush, and sometimes a full lunch.

Monthly musical Friday Night Services feature our very own Alle Brider Band and chorus led by our musical director Abigale Reisman. These special Kabbalat Shabbat evenings are filled with joy and singing.

Sunday morning minyan meets weekly in our Beit Midrash and via Zoom.

We use the Conservative Movement’s Lev Shalem siddur for prayer, and the Etz Chayim chumash for our Torah readings . Our services are Livestreamed via Zoom or YouTube.

We have updated COVID-19 Protocols. Last update: March 2025
