Conservative Judaism in Israel: Recognition, Struggle & Hope
Tuesday, November 11, 2025 • 20 Cheshvan 5786
7:00 PM - 8:30 PMBeit MidrashEitan Kushner, chairman of Kehilat "Moriah", Israel's oldest Conservative synagogue offers an insider's perspective on the unique challenges and triumphs of preserving Masorti (Conservative) Jewish life in modern Israel.
Through a deeply personal lens, he explores the tension between state and Masorti Judaism, the marginalization of non-Orthodox movements, and the daily realities of building a vibrant inclusive Jewish community amid political polarization, cultural shifts, and national crises.
Kehilat Moriah’s rabbi is Rav Matthew Schultz, a colleague and friend of Rav Naomi's with whom we’ve hosted other programs.
This program is presented by TAA's Adult-Ed Committee; registration is required.
