Rabbi Myron S. Geller

Until his retirement in 2007, Rabbi Myron S. Geller was our rabbi for four decades.

Rabbi Geller, like so many good things, originated in Brooklyn, New York. Ordained at Mesifta Torah Vodaath, he served as a U.S. Army Chaplain in the U.S. and abroad, retiring with the rank of Colonel. He also earned degrees from Brooklyn College and Brandeis University.

Rabbi Geller served for twenty-five years as Director of the Gerim Institute, which offers outreach, training and counseling to interfaith couples in the greater Boston area. He was a member for fifteen years of the Committee on Jewish Law and Standards of the Rabbinical Assembly, a deliberative body that addresses inquiries from rabbis worldwide. He is the author of teshuvot on gender equality and the status of gays and lesbians in halakhah.

Rabbi Geller is a member of the Rabbinical Assembly and holds a Doctor of Divinity degree from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America awarded to him for his many years of service as a congregational rabbi.
