A Message from the President and Ritual Committee Chair:

After careful consideration, the Board of Directors has reluctantly decided that High Holiday services will be virtual this year. We looked closely at the possibility of having Hybrid services (Zoom and in person). However, social distancing requirements have reduced the seating capacity of the sanctuary/social hall to fewer than 70 seats and would necessitate tickets and assigned seats based on household size.

Our congregation takes pride in being welcoming and never having issued high holiday tickets in our 100 year history. Deciding who could attend in person and who must stay away does not seem in our communal DNA. Turning away people who arrive without tickets and enforcing seat assignments also does not seem possible for our community.

Finally, there is much uncertainty.  Even if we planned Hybrid services, there is the possibility of more closures as COVID rates increase.

So, we will be Virtual and take advantage of all of what we learned about Zoom to make services as lovely as possible. Once again, Carl Woolf (Now Reb Carl) will be joining us.  Additionally, small in-person gatherings for Taslich and Shofar Blowing will be planned. Details to follow. Phoebe is and will be in touch with families about youth programming.

We know this news is a disappointment, but it's what is safe and practical.  We are looking forward to celebrating the New Year with you.

~ Amy Farber, President & Marilyn Schlein Kramer, Chair, Ritual Committee
