Prayer
We are a profoundly inclusive, egalitarian synagogue affiliated with the Conservative movement. Our members come from every Jewish religious background— Reform, Orthodox, Reconstructionist and Renewal— and all points in between and beyond. Yet we all share a deep respect for Jewish tradition.
Our prayer life is as diverse as our membership. From traditional Shabbat and holiday services, to musical services conducted by our band Alle Brider and the TAA Chorus, to havdallah on the beach in summer, to meditation, we are always looking for new ways to enrich our spiritual practice. Rabbi Kudan shares our desire to explore the many facets of Judaism and Jewish culture. He is committed to helping members find meaning in Jewish liturgy and rituals and fulfillment in living Jewish lives.
My TAA Story
Phoebe Potts
We stumbled into TAA as newlyweds, looking to strengthen our connection to Jewish life we had initiated planning our wedding. We had just moved to Gloucester, to an apartment next to the synagogue, and songs in Hebrew wafted up to our windows. Rabbi Geller welcomed us and inspired us to learn more about Judaism. My Jewish background was patchy, and Jeff has Jewish heritage, but had no religious upbringing. This didn't give anyone pause: we were treated as part of the TAA family immediately.
